Shift work and childcare

My partner works shifts and my son goes to nursery 3 full days a week. If anyone has a similar arrangement, do you still send them in when one parent is off to stick with the routine?

Yes my partner does shifts, I do 3 long days around him being at nursery. If we’re both off we enjoy the time together or do house jobs etc. x

@Caitlin do you send LO in for reduced hours?

@Jo not majorly tend to pick him up for 5 when we pay til 6. No doubt if we got him earlier he’d be sad about leaving 😂 x

Me and my husband both work shifts, our sons days at nursery are fixed and so sometimes land on our days off. As his days are fixed we have to pay for them regardless of if he goes or not so he is going 😂 he loves it there and on the odd occasion it’s our day off we get time to ourselves

I still send mine in if one of us is home, I'm spending a fortune on that nursery so he's going to be there 😂 it's a great chance to catch up on jobs around the house etc

My days are fixed so it will only ever be on my partners days off. He does enjoy it there so not worried about that. It does seem like a waste of money if he does t go for at least part of the day.

Yes definitely still send her, you deserve some time off. Maybe pick him up early if you want to or send him in slightly later.

@Medina no time off for me as he only goes in on my days.
