Daycare class exposed to lice! HELP

Today I walked my 3 year old into class spoke with the teacher a bit, then went to go leave and one of the administrators of the daycare as we stopped to say hi said , Hey, have you heard the news?? One of the kids have lice in your child’s class!! I will have to check his hair when he gets home she said!! Idunno what to think because my baby could be exposed to it which makes us exposed and Idunno in thinking whether to keep him Home until the lice is resolved but I’m also paying for those days ! Maybe only pick him up for half days instead?? Would you guys only let your child stay half days or don’t let ‘em go to daycare until resolved ? Would you keep them there but monitor their hair? Like What would y’all moms do? Apparently kids should not be excluded from schools even with lice!

It’s simple, check their head, if they do comb and treat,if they don’t,use preventative measures. Lice do not like tea tree, get some shampoo and use that on their hair. Unfortunately, lice/ nits are common for children to get, you can try to prevent it, and use treatments when they do. I think it’s a bit far for a child to be excluded for headlice.

@Emma okay I will take that into consideration! Thanks hun

Just do the treatment and send him back. In the days between treatments, I wash my kiddo’s hair with shampoo and a drop of rosemary essential oil and tea tree oil. He’ll be fine. I do a treatment, then another a week later. It’s hardest to get out of my own hair, but he’s pretty easy to treat. We had to do it twice in his first year of daycare. Now I just use Fairy Tales rosemary repel shampoo on him every few days and we haven’t had issues.

@Amber is this on your child who doesn’t have lice? Is this a preventative :)?? my son doesn’t have lice but a classmate of his does in his daycare
