Honestly i started looking when baby was 12 weeks and there was none in my area but got one just outside of it x
I put my babies name down when I was 20w pregnant and still had to wait until he was 1yr old for a place x

@Lisa Barnes just check how long there wait list is. The nursery I work at has a wait list until December 2025

You could also have a look at childminders, although I've found they are also very booked up but may have a bit of flexibility
As soon as I got pregnant second time round I have gone onto a few waiting lists to make sure he gets the space we need for when I go back to work when he's turns 1 haha First time round didn't know what we were doing in terms of myself and husband's shifts so we managed it between us and got him into a pre school at 2 years old, the preschools have a shorter list because it's shorter hours
