My nursery doesn’t have an app 😂 I just find out how his day has been at the end! I ofc hear from them if he needs me. I prefer it that way tbh.
Out nursery doesn’t do it every week but something they’ll upload the three weeks worth in a day - I’m used to it now so I don’t mind and I get excited to see them when they arrive!
We tend to get pictures once a week. I’m not bothered by it as I would rather they spend time with the kids than worrying about pictures. Talking at handover gives us everything we need to know really.
I work in a nursery and I have to say, our wifi is often very spotty and sometimes even if we upload stuff it just doesn’t seem to sync onto the tablets to post for parents. If it was continuous for months I’d deffo raise an issue but for now, I’d say give them benefit of the doubt. I love getting the updates for my little boy but there are also times/days where they simply don’t update as much because of how many kids they have in the room. As a practitioner, our main priority is the care we provide to the children and the tablets / apps do take a backseat, especially when we’re really busy. I’ve had parents call at 12:30 asking for lunch updates (lunch is 11:30) and complaining it’s not been put on when the reality of the situation was there were 5 of us with 18 babies, trying to give them all lunch and then settle them for sleep (or keep them entertained if they weren’t sleeping) AS WELL AS tidying lunch away and resetting activities for those awake xx
