Breastfed baby poo schedule

When should you see a GP about your baby not pooping when exclusively breastfed? I think i have it in my memory that it's 10 days of not pooping but I can't really find anything that specifically states when to see a GP so I'm not sure if I've made this up

I would speak to gp it could be nothing to worry about but just to put your mind at ease , or I would speak to health visitor if you have an appointment coming up x

@Morgan she's pooed now but it was getting close to 10 days so that's why I was wondering!

I think I remember my health visitor or midwife saying if there is a sudden change in bowel movements eg going from everyday to not going for a few days to give them or gp a call. This would have been at the very beginning so I don’t know if I am remembering right. I would give either health visitors or gp a call if you are worried even if it’s to put your mind at ease.

My exclusively breast fed baby would go every day like clockwork. At around 3/4 months she decided she would rather go every 7 days instead. So that's how it's been for the last month! I did go to the gp about it when it first happened and he said give a bit of cool boiled water (1oz) if she's not gone by 10 days, and if that doesn't work try a bit of lactulose (over the counter). Just as I was boiling the water she decided to have an explosion so didn't have to do that in the end - but the doc said breast fed babies use up 99% of the milk they intake so there just isn't as much waste sometimes. Either way - yes it's normal for bf babies to go less frequently it seems, but as above get it checked out if you're unsure. Xx

My boy went two weeks once and they basically said as long as he's happy and healthy, not to worry, I gave him a couple of ml of boiled water at one point which helped ❤️

It changes constantly with growth spurts and what not ❤️
