Oh no..

WELP… it isn’t looking good!! Concerned about losing power with a 4 month old. Scared for our coastal areas. Peace River is already at flooding stage and we have 3 more days of rain ahead of landfall.

We had to have “babas on the bbq “ heated up water for the formula 🤣 and heated the house with a propane heater at 3-4 months when the power was out for days 😅 good luck

Then leave in east coast next Palm Bay and viera it don’t look good

Yeah it’s looking scary. If you’re concerned for sure go in a safer zone.

Can you leave? Do you breastfeed or give formula ? It’s hard, it happened to is when my son was 3 months overnight and for me to eat and keep hydrated while breastfeeding we had to go. But it was hard and scary traveling during so if you can leave now I would suggest and if not just have food that you are willing to eat cold and don’t need to be refrigerated/heated.

@Jade I live pretty central, there’s not much of a flood threat as my apartment is built up off the ground and I don’t live by a river. We don’t have any trees around our apartments so that isn’t a concern. I’m mainly concerned about losing power and cell service, which is inevitable. This is my first hurricane as a mama and that makes it scarier. And baby is BF but I wanted to get a container of formula too just in case but we’ll see. And I just went shopping and stocked our pantry and we have been stocking up on water since it’s hurricane season so we should be good. I’m going to fill up the baby’s bath tub and some storage containers with clean water for cleaning bottles, dishes, and such. I did get paper plates so cleaning dishes won’t really be a concern.

@Britney unfortunately it is usually hot as hell here so if we lose power the concern will be air conditioning lol and we would need a generator and a decent amount of gas to run AC 😭 it’ll be okay :)

Okay that’s all good! The hardest part for us was trying to keep hydrated and food because we were not prepared. We had food inside our house but it was refrigerated or in the freezer and needed to be heated/was going to go bad, and we couldn’t go out to get food and I exclusively breastfed so it was hard😭

@Jade yes I totally understand the struggle. Been there back when Irma hit Sebring pretty much directly. We didn’t sustain any damage at our property, but our area was out of power for 12 days. And we lost cell service for a while but I don’t remember how long. All the stores were closed. This time we have a propane camping stove and a cooler and ice in our freezer to keep things cold if we do lose power.

Yes that’s great! The day we left was because of property damage, a tree fell and my husband was like that’s it! We now live in North Carolina and luckily were only out of power & water for 1 day after Helene, sending love to you and your family ❤️ Please update that y’all are okay when everything is done!

Oh gosh trees falling is a huge concern. Thank you!! I’ll update!

It's so easy for ppl day evacuate and leave, but we don't know if let's are involved, which makes it harder. Stay safe, I'm bunkering down as well. We got this! Just watch the news and if needed, follow what they say. Yk what's right.
