School nursery or private nursery

@Steph happy to pay I currently pay for nursery now so payment isn't an issue for food etc . Also my son is toilet trained too but my worry would be if he said he needed it would they show him etc each time or would he just be expected to know.
School nurseries follow term times so we would be without childcare for chunks of the year. We would love our LO to start in the kindergarten of his private school but decided to stay at his nursery as it’s only bank holidays and Christmas week they are closed! So instead of starting at nearly 4 he will start at nearly 5.
As a childcare provider myself, there isn’t much difference once they get to pre-school. Even in a nursery pre-school they will be expected to go to the toilet by themselves at that point. Private nurseries are open all year round so the funding is stretched so you only get two days instead of 3/4 School is only term time and shorter days most of the time so half terms become tricky for childcare which is why most people don’t do it, unless they find a job that caters for only term time as well.
@Kayleigh ah ok that's fine. As for holidays I'm not to fussed as come a year after I'll have to sort childcare for half terms etc so might aswell bite the bullet now . Luckily my MIL SIL are teachers too so happy to help out and my parents are coming up retirement too . So if there isn't much difference apart from holidays I think I'll go with the school as they do wrap around care too
Mine goes to a private nursery twice a week. I earn too much so I don’t get anything from the government. A few of our friends are now sending their 3 year olds to school nursery as it’s cheaper and they aren’t really happy after kids had gone to the private. School nurseries do not train kids to go to the toilet as far as I know. That’s parents responsibility but they do show all kids where toilets are, in the one that we checked out, they have small toilets for kids. They also provide meals but you have to pay.
