Pushchairs

Hey guys, how much did you spend on your pushchair for your baby? I’m looking at the Mamas and Papas Ocarro 8 piece and I love it, but my partner thinks it’s too expensive and although he’s willing to get it, thinks we can get the same or similar for cheaper ?

When our little one was a baby, we spent about 2k with all the extra bits we needed

@Bonita was it worth it?

Yes, it was for us. We got the whole Silvercross set and it lasted us till for way longer than we thought as my LO was quite tall, we had to make quick changes

I’m planning to buy everything second hand (except car seat and mattress). We just can’t justify spending that sort of money when it’s not necessary and we need to put food on the table and keep the heating on x

@Claire @Candace 100% recommend this, my mother in law found the same set for around £900 for when LO would be spending time with her. Absolutely great way to save money and planet!

I bought my pushchair second hand for £35 😂 I will get something else in a few months but it has done us perfectly well for the first 2.5months of her life. I did get the car seat with it but wouldn’t use it and spent over £200 on that (well I actually didn’t, my sister gifted it to me)

Got the whole silver cross set was 1600 on sale

We got an Ocarro set from fb marketplace for £250 in excellent condition (one baby for 6 months) & then just bought a new car seat! Very happy with that. Theres a couple of scuffs on the frame but just means we’re not paranoid about marking it ourselves

If you google it they have the ocarro on baby planet and pram world for a lot cheaper than direct with mamas and papas

We got ours as a hand-me-down, I can’t believe what some people pay for new pushchairs!

I’m looking to spend £300 or under as I know babies just grow super fast!

I got the cybex bundle when it was on offer for I think it was £1300. But family wanted to help us buy it so I think we paid maybe £200

We had the Iccklebubba stomp v3 I think it was with my first and I didn’t rate but it was cheap, we needed a double for our second because of the age gap and bought the Cybex Gazelle S for around £1k, we both said we wish we had just spent the money when had our first, we still use it basically everyday xx

I spent 200 on my pram brand new from smith xx

My travel system was £1,100 brand new. It was worth it BUT now we're moving we can't keep it so we need to sell it. Gutted but all the other bits takes up so much space. It's a Venicci Tinum. Amazing buggy but hopefully we can sell it before we move Depends on your budget but if you can afford it go for it or try and find a discount code for it. My husband has some account that he gets discount via work

£30 😅. Got a lovely Oyster 2 on Marketplace, just bought a new mattress for the carrycot! I did buy a new car seat though which cost me £200 (Joie 360 ispin). I can't justify huge sums of money on stuff like this, save your money as you'll need it!

@Tasha I second this! I also have Venicci and it’s a lovely set. I always get compliments wherever I go too! I got the beige with the gold trimmings lol it’s also so easy to get the attachments off and fold away. Best value for money ever.

I’d suggest shopping around abit. We looked at the uppababy vista 2.. on John Lewis for a set it was looking to cost around £1200, we bought all of the stuff separately across different websites and it cost us around £800.. (plus used different voucher codes found online) so we saved a few hundred pound on the exact same travel system. Just don’t rush and buy, shop around and workout how you can get the same set cheaper - if you’re set on that one! x

I personally wouldn’t spend a fortune, for her first pushchair and car seat we spent £200. It’s no different to the pushchairs that are a grand or more tbh. When she turned 1 we got a more lightweight and easy foldable one which was £80 and will last her now until she is walking more than using the pushchair so all in all £280. Time goes fast and they grow out of it very quickly. Save your pennies and put it towards something else.

Don’t spend too much on your first pushchair.

Wait until Black Friday deals! We saved a decent chunk in our Mama and Papas travel system!

I bought our travel system second hand for £150 including the car seat (it was off my brother so I know 1000% it was in perfect condition or else I would never buy a second hand car seat to be on the safe side) they payed over £2000 for it 10 months prior😅

Emmas diary have nearly half price off the ocarro i believe

I got the my babbiiee full set which costs me £400 including car seat and 2 other seat attachments

We have the M&P Ocarro set and absolutely love it. I think we bought it in Black Friday sales so it was a bit cheaper and also went in store for a personal shopping appt where you got X amount in vouchers for every X amount you spent. We’re planning on having more than one baby, so to me it was an investment for future children too

Same as Caitlin; got £125 vouchers in mama’s and papa’s by going in store for a personal appt and a Black Friday deal on top for the Ocarro bundle! It feels super nice looking and solid compared to all the other prams we tried, so baby sleeps well in it whenever we’re out and about. Love how he doesn’t wake up if he’s asleep in the car and I need to take him indoors, can keep him in the car seat til he stirs again (up to 1.5 hours) and great to keep if you’re thinking of having more than one baby too! When baby was 6 months, I bought a travel pram to go on holiday so now we use both and keep one in each car for nursery drop offs/pick ups.

@Kristen I got the camo grey on. It's the one button fold I love. Amazing

We got the egg bundle for £1500 - it’s a lot but equally it’s my first baby and the one thing I wanted new and nice was a pram. You can definitely get cheaper but my thought process was they are going to be in the bassinet, pushchair, car seat a lot over the years so def a good investment. Especially if you plan on having more

Also if you book a baby appointment with John Lewis they give you 10% off any purchases over £1000 or 15% over £2000 - obv can be multiple items!

I have the occarro. Possibly the 8 piece not certain. I have seen the occarro on offer at half price recently. Haven't used it yet as baby isn't here yet, but we set it up and it all feels and looks good. Easy to put together and fold down. I like that the pram seat stays attached when folding one less step then most.
