How to treat Cradle cap

My sons almost 3 and still has cradle cap, the nhs online advice says to just leave it and it’ll clear up on its own and I’m still waiting for it to clear up when it’s been a couple years now. He was born with a head full of thick long dark hair which he still has. He’s had his hair cut every 6 weeks since he was about 8 months old, the hairdresser also says to leave it. Does anyone know of any natural remedies to clear it up?

We used baby oil, massage it into the scalp and let it sit for a few hours then we used a comb to comb it out gently we did that for a few days and it never came back after that, she had severe cradle cap and it was really bad so we just continued massaging it into her scalp and letting it sit then combining out the stuff that came lose. It’s a lot more gentle this way and less likely for them to bleed when you comb out the flakes.

@Gloria thank you, I’ll give it a go x

Mmhmm baby oil, olive oil, coconut oil, anything oily with help loosen and dissolve the scales/flakes. You can also look for baby cradle cap shampoo and conditioner. My fiancé’s son is 7 and still occasionally gets it from not washing his hair well and no showers at his mom’s. We use a cradle cap duo set for him can’t remember the brand
