Baby constantly pooping

Hi all, was wondering if anyone has experienced their baby constantly pooping with every change (every 2/3 hours) after each feed. Doctors have told me it’s normal as he was a small baby (born 4lbs) and it’ll gradually stop as long as he’s gaining the weight which he is, and the healthcare visitor told me he could be lactose intolerant and to check him in with a gp to get prescribed milk. Unsure on what to do

A lot of poop is normal, no poop for a couple days is normal as well.

My kid pooped a lot too. Midwife said it was okay! They wanted lots of poops and would only be concerned if I wasn't getting enough wet or dirty diapers.

How old is he? My baby was 4.5 pounds and did a poop 5-7 times a day until Week 3. Now he does 1-2 a day with an occasional day skipped. As long as he’s gaining weight and not in pain, I’m sure it’s fine!

Yes!! This was our baby too. It has for sure slowed down. She was born early August. Your baby will likely slow down soon too! But even if not, that can be super normal 🤗

A lot or non for a few days can be normal. If the consistency and colour are off that would be something to bring up.

@Harley he’s 6 weeks 3 days old , thank you for this, very reassuring!!!

My baby poops a lot too!!

My baby was just under 6 pounds when he was born and has a poo nearly every nappy change as well. Hoping it slows down soon!

Is baby breastfed? Apparently, breastfed babies poo more. My little one is 10 weeks and breastfed, she poos loads. Health visitor told me it's normal.

@Kylie no he was for the first few weeks but now he’s formula fed
