Crying like they are in pain

Hi mummas! Thought I would ask you as it’s killing me! My little baby girl who’s 10 weeks old is normally such a happy content baby, smiling in her wake times, eating and sleeping fine, but all of a sudden today she has been crying all day like she is in pain. No matter what I do she is crying like she’s hurting and I’m not sure what it could be! I’ve tried all the obvious like nappy changes, bath, trapped wind, walking. She’s breast fed and not normally that gassy. Does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be?

Have you checked her temperature to see if she’s not feeling well? Has she been feeding ok and had 6 wet nappies? Hope you mange up settle her soon 🫶🫶

@Danni yeah I checked her temperature but she is ok :/ she’s had lots of wet nappies and has been feeding but not as much as usual, she normally loves being on the boob! 💔

My 12 week old is like this occasionally. I think sometimes they feel a bit off (maybe headache or stomachache). He’s usually back to his normal self the next day. ❤️

Thank you Rosie! Hopefully 🙏🏻 I hate thinking they are in pain xxx

I’ve had this with my little boy, the health visitor told me they go through a period of what’s called purple crying where it as if they’re in pain and are inconsolable but apparently it’s a development phase and happens around the 10 week mark

@Andi-louise yes it’s horrible. You’re doing all you can. That’s all you can do xx

My 10 week old boy has been doing this all day, it’s really upsetting as you think they’re in pain it’s really weird as normally smiley happy boy 😫

Funnily enough my ten week old little girl has done this twice this week. Usually no tears or upset and twice this week she’s broke into horrendous screaming for no reason and the only way to settle her eventually is singing and bouncing in your knee. We’ve put it down to the witching hour. It’s both been in the vending she’s done this

Evening

Any hairs around fingers or toes . That can be painful if it gets tighter and tighter x

Could be gums getting a bit sore.. teeth usually don’t start coming through for another few months, but everything starts preparing much earlier

My baby has been like this too I think he’s teething

My LO is 13 weeks now and started having teething pain we think at 11 weeks, I can now feel the teeth cutting his gums but they can begin to move early on causing pain, if you wash your hands and pop a finger in when they are crying they usually chew it and stop crying if that's the source of the pain, just something to help rule out/ find the cause! My LO also has reflux so we have started propping him up for naps to stop the milk coming back up (the stomach acid can cause pain in their throat like indigestion/ buring)again you can usually smell this on the breath & GP can help if it continues and doesn't get better! The reflux can be silent too so no signs except for them being unsettled. Just a few things extra things you can look out for xx

My baby is beginning to do this and she’s just turned 4 months. Sometimes it’s just cuddles and walking around with them can help? Change in temp as well can be upsetting. I’ve started putting more clothes on my baby girl and she prefers being undressed😂 it’s hard to pin point what it actually is but she might just be having an off day and may be better tomorrow x
