How to potty train a constipated toddler?

My daughter is constantly constipated… we have tried everything the doctor has suggested. She eats lots of apples and fruits already. Refuses prune juice. Sometimes we give her Miralax that the doctor recommended but I don’t want to do that everyday… anyways she gets very constipated and sometimes will not get out of bed in the morning until she finishes in her diaper. How can I get her to sit on a toilet to go if this is what she’s dealing with? Any advice?

Constipation will really make it complicated! My girl just went through a bout of constipation that stopped her potty training dead in its tracks. But we resolved her constipation with a nearly daily doses of MiraLAX, which is easy to hide in her other beverages and that’s been keeping her very regular. it’s gentle enough to give her every day. Now that she’s a regular, she started training again and it’s going a lot easier however, pooping on the toilet is probably the last skill she will develop, which is normal. Training is quite the marathon. Hang in there, mama you got this !

Hey! Try to incorporate high fiber veggies in her food, maybe puree brócoli & other greens, I do that with chicken soup so that my toddler won’t be suspicious 😩 also banana & berry smoothies help

So we ended up doing a miralax clean out. Ask your doc the dose for a clean out. She was on that for three days 3 times a day. And then after that we are on script now. But she been on mirilax for 6 months and I choose to go a script route. Which now we are on lactolose. get purely prebiotic to help also go see Gi

I've been a nanny for 15 years and have potty trained numerous kids. 1 kid in particular, struggled with constipation, to the point of Drs appointments and twice having to manually help him, which was not fun...but he was in sooo much pain. What we did is avoid bananas at all cost (they are very constipating) and eat lots of fruits that start with the letter P. Pear, plums/prunes, pineapples. Making green smoothies every morning with Greek yogurt, spinach, berries and a few prunes...add mostly berries or fruits that she likes to make it taste good or a little maple syrup or pineapple juice to sweeten it. It will even out eventually. He always came home constipated from a weekend at his grandparents, because they would load him up on carbs like pancakes and pizza and lots of surgery drinks. Good luck, ya got this!!!

Oh also pumpkin helps a lot too. If she will eat yogurt, I would give her Greek yogurt with pumpkin puree, maple syrup and you can add pumpkin pie spice. I'm 8 months pregnant and eat this every morning (I add pecans as well) and have never had constipation throughout my whole pregnancy.
