Osteopath

Does anyone have any experience of taking their little one to an osteopath? We have noticed recently that my little one is holding her head tilted to one side and now can’t stop worrying about it! Need some advice please

Google Phillip Owen, I travelled hours and hours to see this guy as he’s just the best. Honestly the best thing we’ve ever done. If you can’t get to him, research for a credible one near you, it really worked for us.

We are going to the osteopathic centre for children next Friday. https://www.occ.uk.com/

@Yog it’s 4 hours for me, so need to research somewhere a little closer 🙈 but can you tell me what they will actually do to help baby? Did your baby also have a head tilt then? Did it correct it? Sorry for all the questions 🩷

They release pressure that can be causing the tension. My baby couldn’t move her head with full range and was getting a flat spot. They ask you about birth etc and if they cried etc, it’s all very clever!

We took our little girl after a difficult delivery as she held a lot of tension. After three sessions overall we found her neck had loads less tension, she was generally happier, she fed better on my left breast which she’s previously refused, and her digestion improved too. Sleep unfortunately was unaffected 🤣 but it can at times help that too!

I went to Claire and she is amazing and super helpful all around. Cannot recommend her enough! https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ab52ETeGjGoPbsXXA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

@Kayleigh The Perrymount Clinic https://g.co/kgs/vfGV3DP We went here. The owner is amazing. After a c section and a slight head tilt we had 3 sessions. Would recommend if you don’t mind a little travel (probably 25 mins from you?). He has great free information on instagram as well x

Highly recommend Osteopathic Centre for Children, have used for myself in pregnancy, my 3 week old and my 15 year old! https://www.occ.uk.com

I took my son and have seen a significant improvement. He would scream and scream in a car seat, on every journey. Two sessions and it doesn't happen anymore!

I took my daughter after ventouse delivery as she had a bulge and neck tension and suffered with digestion issues. Been for about six sessions now and have seen an improvement. Don’t know whether it was just as she has gotten older or if it is actually the osteopath, but I would say it’s worth it.

Yes my lg has head and neck tension as well as severe reflux so has been seeing one every week and I’ve definitely seen an improvement

The head tilt could be torticollis. My little one has been seeing a pediatric physio for it and has had great progress! You can get this via the nhs but they are super slow so we found a private physio to speed things up.

Took my daughter at 3months to a cranial osteopath - couldn't tell you what he did other than place his hands either side of her hips and then head but I sat her up and she immediately vomited green goo - her poo was bright green after too! The tension in her body relieved in only one session, she fed and slept better, even friends and family said when they held her she felt less tense and relaxed into them. Definitely worth a try...

Absolutely worth their weight in gold if you have one nearby that treats babies. I have been seeing my osteo for 4 years and have had treatments during pregnancy and took littlen to her when she was born due to difficult delivery and emergency c section. Her neck was always really “strong” but she had lots of tension. My osteo also doubles up as a feeding coach so she also helped out with a lot of the issues we had with feeding

Yes, I took my little girl to see a cranial osteopath. She works on the head and body. She was sleeping only on her right side and they worked wonders. We had 3 sessions in total to help with the movement of her head and to work on her tummy to help her loosen her bowls. Would highly recommend you seeing one.
