@Claire thank you. I’m honestly so scared. Did it get rid of the hpv too when they removed the cells? I heard it can kick start your body into fighting it x
I believe so as my next two smears were clear. I had an abnormal one 2 years ago but following a biopsy it came back clear and have since had another clear. A lot of the time they are just taking extra precautions. I know it’s hard but try not to worry x
@Claire maybe it’s for the best then. I really just want to kick the virus arse but it just won’t leave my system so maybe I’m hoping they do have to remove them tbh. Thank you x
I’ve had the same procedure as well, I believe everything was removed when they took the biopsy’s, and my following smear came back clear. ☺️🩷 xx
I've had the diathermy treatment which removed it all about 5/6 years ago.. the following smear I still had HPV but after doing another biopsy everything else was normal apart from that. My last smear was clear of HPV though. Try not to worry yourself too much x
It takes 10+ years, if not longer for cancer to develop so the chances are a very very low based on the information you’ve given. These abnormal cells are very easy to treat and they’ll monitor you closely afterwards so it’s a good thing it’s been picked up early. Good luck and hope it all goes well for you
I’m so happy to come across this post and these comments. I’m due my colposcopy in few days and I honestly don’t know what to expect and that makes me a bit nervous
@Hayley see they didn’t remove anything when they did the biopsy’s for me which Makes me wonder if she’s not actually too concerned about. Will see what the biopsy’s say. Fingers crossed I end up clear x
@Vee you’ll be absolutely fine. It doesn’t hurt at all it’s just nerve wracking if you’ve never been for one xx
I hope so lovely! I’m now pregnant again as well, and after some checks, still classed as low risk, so I’m delighted! 😀 xx
@Kaylee did you have HPV for a while then like me? Honestly I’m sick of it’ I just want it to go away 😔 thank you x
@Zee I really hope so thank you x
Yes I had it for a while, just didn't want to go away.. I did go onto have a healthy baby 3 years after though. Hopefully it will go away for you soon xx
@Kaylee I just recently had a little boy 4 Mo the ago so it hasn’t affected me badly thankfully! Thank you xx

@Vee You’ll be fine lovely. It’s not too dissimilar to a smear test, they just look through a kind of microscope to get a better view. If they do need to do a biopsy you just feel a little pinch but it’s honestly fine x
Thank you ladies for the encouragement 🫂
Update: I finally had the colposcopy done and there was no abnormal cell found and my next smear test will be in 3 years . I feel so relieved 🥰
@Vee yay! Awesome news! 🤩 Hope your next smear goes well too! 🩷
@HayleyFingers crossed 🥰
Hi lovely, I’m no expert but I had to have LLETZ treatment a few years back to remove some abnormal cells. It was a very scary time and I felt the information I was given wasn’t very helpful so I worried a lot. Thankfully I got a normal smear afterwards I know it’s really hard but try not to worry and wait for the biopsy results x
