Victim

Why do MILs play victim!!! My son turned 1 a couple of days ago. Very little effort has been made all his life and we haven’t heard much from them. But to say ‘I didn’t know I was invited to come over’ when we mentioned I briefly prior to going away that they can come over today to see him. Do I stop playing the nice guy and just call her out on her actions

Call her out on her actions, I did this too and she didn't like it at all had to be said.

My husbands family all live near us(same town) and they’ve seen my son ONCE. He’s 3 months old. I literally have just given up on my expectations of them wanting to have a relationship

I literally don’t even bother anymore. I can count on 1 hand how many times my MIL has been to see her grandson. She hasn’t been round to see him for nearly 10 months and has only seen him by chance since then. He doesn’t recognise her or even give her the time of day when she has accidentally seen him. If you say something, will you be the one in the wrong with your partner?
