Toddler hitting

Wondering if anyone else’s toddler is going through a hitting and scratching stage Trying to get her in the car seat she often goes for my face When she doesn’t get her own way she often throws herself down or at times hangs her head on things? I don’t see any mummy bloggers mentioning these things? Is this normal She’s 21 months for reference?

My boy is only 12 months so in a different stage developmentally, but he has just started hitting and grabbing at our faces, but in a playful way, we are trying to teach him to be gentle but it's not working My friend's little girl, when she was 14 months used to bang her head against things when her mum told her no and throw herself on the floor screaming. I'm not sure what she did to combat this 😟

Thank you just hearing that im not the only mum with this problem helps

I don’t acknowledge it at all. Not sure if that’s the right way to go about it but I had read at the age my son is at (19 months) they think any attention is good attention so I don’t react to it at all. It has decreased in frequency as well as drastically decreased in how long the tantrums last.
