Mine failed the test at the hospital and then at his first appointment after discharge, they retested him and he passed. It isn't always a bad thing. They said that sometimes, the fluid in their ears doesn't drain immediately and sometimes it just needs some extra time to clear out. I'm sure if they retest, it'll be alright
My son failed twice at the hospital. :( we have a follow up in a couple of weeks to try again. I’m hoping he just had a lot of fluid
Weird that they sent you a letter saying he didn’t pass when they told you he passed at the hospital.. I would definitely call pediatrician and see if you can book another appointment for another hearing test just to be sure.. my baby didn’t pass the right ear and I got scheduled a week after to take it again and he passed, apparently it can be fluid that can get stuck there when they are born, but I will definitely double check just to be sure.
Yes! It's really weird. I know the hospital I was at doesn't test until 48 hours after the baby is born because of the fluid in ear thing. But they handed us a letter in the hospital saying he passed... so I'm just so confused why Oregon health authority sent me a letter saying he didn't pass. But I am going to reach out Monday to our pediatricians office and Oregon health authority to figure it out... but I will for sure be getting it handled and him checked again to be sure!
My son didn’t pass the first one so they tested him the next day and he passed! Maybe this is what happened with your baby’s hearing test?
