I've been homeschooling my kids for so long. Best decision ever they've never went to school before I have a 9,8, 7,5,4 and 1 year old.

For Me my son will go to school. I had to home school my now 9 year old when the 2nd COVID lockdown happened and it caused me so much stress. Also if home schooled they won't mix with other children as much so may end up with no friends but it is your choice. If you do homeschooling I wish you good luck xx

I'm thinking of homeschooling. I have a lot of resources and information. If you need any, let me know. Statistically homeschooed children and more advanced have higher self-esteem and confidence. Also, based on your community, they will not fail with interaction. For example. The gymnastics club my children go to has a session for homeschoolers, so they mix with children there. Not to mention the park, church, or any other extra circular activities you will send them to. They can still go to summer camps. Ballet or dance lessons. And then you also have your family. Homeschoolers are not locked in a house with only you and them. The world is a vast place. You can take a holiday at any time of the year, and they will always still be learning and meeting new people.making lifelong connections and friends.

@Marcella that's amazing! Not sure how you juggle all of that.

@Emma I get that it's not for everyone but I disagree that kids will have no friends. My daughter has never been to nursery and already has 'best friends'. She is extremely sociable and talks to everyone and makes friends in any children setting.

@Asher I appreciate that thank you! Yes I have read about it a lot and looked into the research too. Again I'm not worried about the social aspect as my daughter is very sociable and we have lots of friends! It's frustrating when people think homeschooled kids are kept at home 24/7. They hear 'home' and assume. To me it's more about not making my 3/4/5 year old just sit at a desk all day. I want her to learn through play and think for herself rather than being told how to think. My daughter loves maths, she is obsessed! She can count forwards and backwards to 100. She knows her number bonds to 10 and 20. She knows her 2 times tables. She just loves learning, she can spell her name (7 letters) she knows her phonics and can sound out small words. She can do so much more too! I'm worried putting her in a 30 person class will make her fall behind because she will be bored. She is doing things they teach children in year 1 and 2.

Girl me neither smh. I guess I just get up and do it. I'm use to our routine now it took time though

But I'm also worried about how will I cope financially, I'm a single mum with no financial help from anyone (not family, she doesn't know her father). I would love to home school in a perfect world where I was financially stable but realistically I won't be. How do you handle the financial side of things if you don't mind sharing?

@Marcella I'm struggling with 1 child 🤣 well done mama you're amazing!

@Lin fair enough yeah they will have friends but maybe not as many as they could have if in school but long as she's happy that's all that matters x

@Emma I doubt every child in every class is friends with all their class 😅 usually they make small friend groups. The point is, I'm not worried about the social aspect of things.

I’m gonna be homeschooling I’m too scared to send my children to school especially the way they are controlling children recently.

@clara yes definitely agree with this

@Lin definitely agree with you. I'm also not worried about the social aspect. Financially;I'm trying to create a passive income. My children are 3 in December so I still have time to sort things out before they officially need to be in school.

I’d love to home school! I’ve always wanted to, I work in a school and sometimes I think it’s really not the environment I want my daughter to learn in! I’d love to be in a position financially to do this 💕

@Tayah I have worked in schools too and it's one of my reasons I want to homeschool. I decided to do a term of homeschooling and see how if goes. So far it's going well and my daughter has learnt so much and loves it I guess I'm just looking for a homeschooling community
