So my bump was measuring small which prompted growth scans but in a odd twist baby measuring 98th centile had GD test negative, ended up being induced because they said baby would get too big then emergency c section and baby was 8lb 13
I was told I had an “off the scale” large baby and as such was forced into an early induction. My baby was a very average 8.2. If I had my time again I would definitely seek a second opinion and possibly me refuse growth scans because I’ve heard nothing good or accurate about them since.
I was told my baby was going to be big, at one scan measured on 97th percentile so was sent for gestational diabetes test and was all normal. I had to be induced for a different reason and he was born at 6lb 11oz (I was 38+3). So I doubt even if he was born at 40 weeks he would have been big. I was told by my midwife that scans can be up to 15% out on their measurements.
Mine was over 9lb and I didn’t have GD either just a big baby, I never had growth scans but had a random scan after reduced movements which showed him to be 98th percentile, tbh no one batted an eyelid they said all good and sent me on my way 😂 no intervention ever mentioned and he was born at 40 weeks x
I had growth scans due to a 2 vessels cord, was predicted a normal size baby for me, but she was born at 9lb 9oz 😅. No gestational diabetes!
I had growth scans throughout pregnancy due to high risk pregnancy for other reasons, baby was measuring 2 weeks ahead near the end, then my last growth scan was 38+5 and they said 8lb2oz, I had him at 39+2 and he was 9lb2oz😅 no gestational diabetes for me either! Natural birth with forceps x
