Baby poop

Prune puree works a treat. Pear puree is also really good. If you have tried weetabix with her then that also works really well x

@Julia and this poop consistency is normal ?? Could it be cause she just started purée ?

@Emilia It looks quite hard which often means baby is constipated. Their poo can change when starting solids and go more solid rather than mushy but it shouldn’t be that hard. Did she struggle pushing it out?x

@Julia it wasn’t actually hard mostly mushy but she did struggle I thought would be a bigger poo then this 😂

@Emilia If she struggled then give her prune puree for a couple of days so she doesn’t get constipated really badly. My little girl is stool softener due to chronic constipation and her constipation poos look like that x

I used prune baby food to help with constipation. Just be aware that baby might have some explosive diapers if she eats a lot of it 😂 I was worried about constipation when we started solids. So I'd give her baby food prunes every other day or so to help her stay regular.

Babies at 6 months can have 4 ounces of water daily. Increase fiber foods- prunes, peaches, plums, vegetables.

@Roz pediatricians recommend not to give water until 9 months

Same happened with my little one Poor thing he literally cried after being constipated for 2 days to get his poop out. What I gave him was apple prune juice which is sold where they sell baby food items. I find that the juice relieved him much faster. He was struggling to go and I NEEDED to help him. Another thing you can do is very watered down formula or breast milk during feeding To help digest the “solids”

My pediatrician even suggested the apple prune juice for constipation

@Lyrehc I tried giving her the pouch purée prune and pears yesterday night and a bit this morning because she seems to still be constipated since yesterday .. how long for the prunes to be effective and how long do we wait to go to the doctor for that

Yeah my boy has been terribly constipated since being on purees. We tried loads of hacks recommended but the only one that worked was the Frida windi my lovely friend recommended. We now know we can use those if he goes more than a couple of days.
