Nurseries

I’m 29 weeks and we have got our place, paid the holding fee last week. I’m a health visitor and I know in my area the waiting lists are bonkers. With the new government funding coming in next September for 9 month olds nurseries are going to having longer waiting lists. For us I didn’t want to leave it to chance.

We have had our nursery place reserved since I was 15 weeks, my sister really struggled to get a space for my niece so I took 'the sooner the better' to another level 😅 At the time the nursery was already full for October 2025.

We've got a place set for baby to start in September (9 months old) as I have to return to work then and our first is already at the same nursery. Waiting lists are typically about 1year-18months at the moment so if you're wanting to put baby in on specific days/at a certain age I'd consider putting your name down early.

I won’t be sending mine to nursery. But in my area there is a 1 and a half to 2 year wait list for the good ones. So I’d definitely secure your place now to make sure you get one you like.

We put baby on the waiting list after 12 week scan for October 2025 and no place confirmed yet!

We put ours on a waiting list at 12 weeks. She's due to go in Jan 2027. They haven't asked for a deposit yet but we weren't the first on the list.

At about 12 weeks pregnant we put our baby on a preliminary list ready for Jan 2026 at the same nursery her brother attends. x

School nursery the term after they turn 3

We've had ours booked since 17 weeks. I know when I want to return to work so it made sense. Especially given we figured it would get busier with more funded childcare being offered.

We booked in and paid our reservation fee at 15 weeks!

we reserved our place at 12 weeks pregnant. baby will be going October 2025, they messaged 2 weeks after saying their placements were full until 2026
