First time mum question!

Would you recommend a baby bath that goes in the normal bath or one that can be used inside or outside of the normal bath?? The angelcare baby bath seems popular but I’m worried that we will always have to crouch over the normal bath and this will become uncomfortable?

I had one that was outside the bath for my little boy and he grew out of it so quickly. So this time we’re getting one for our bath

We used the shnuggle baby bath with our first and will go again this time. I just found it more convenient only having to fill the baby bath than the whole bath, also when he was young we would use it downstairs or in the bedroom rather than leaning over the bath.

We had both but much preferred the seat in the bath, we found a baby bath was so much hassle to fill and drain after

Put it this way for baby 1 we didn’t and this time I’ve picked up a free one off a neighbour for round 2. However we did have the Angelcare lie down seat for when she was a little bit older which was great but not useful for newborn. Also means you don’t have to run a full bath for such a small human. Try get them both second hand then you have options! I see them go for £5 regularly on fb

I've got a 18 week old and honestly it's so easy with a baby bath! I have a budabulle one that's pretty big however it isn't big enough for an angelcare seat but will fit up to 2 years at least. It takes about 3 minutes to fill up, it has a plug in it, you can buy a newborn seat and a sitty up seat that fit inside and they won't lose their toys at all. I watched my SIL bathe her 2 sons in the normal bath and it took so much water and there were so many tantrums over list toys that I knew I needed a baby bath instead

@Madeleine ooh thank you! I didn’t think of looking on marketplace. There are loads on there for a fraction of the price!

@Samantha I’ve seen a few reviews where people have said their babies have kicked around in it and cut their foot? Also it’s difficult when they’re newborn as it’s quite upright. Did you have any issues? 🤔

He used to play and kick about but never cut his foot. It is quite upright though so the first few weeks we woudl hold him up a bit in it x

Yeah looking back at the photos of when he was first born, would definitely need to hold him in it.

I prefer the baby bath in terms of leaning over, especially if you could be recovering from surgery but also i wasn’t comfortable lifting a slippery baby in and out the bath when they were newborn x

I preffered having one outside the bath when they're super small , moved to the lie down seat at around 3 months it intimidated me how little they were compared to the bath haha x
