Newborn prescribed wrong eyedrops?

My 7 week old has had conjunctivitis in one eye since yesterday. I’ve been cleaning it with breast milk but went to the doctors today to be safe. He prescribed her with these but looking at the leaflet it says suitable for 2 year old and up…. Has anyone else been prescribed this for their baby? I don’t feel right giving it to her! He didn’t do any other checks on her either… I’ve called the doctors and she is going to query the issue. I still don’t think I would feel comfortable giving it to her if he says he prescribed the correct thing! Another photo in the comments.

Yeah they’re right. Under 2 though just needs prescribed by a dr

We’ve used it but it has to be prescribed by a doctor xx

My eldest had these exact ones when he had conjunctivitis under 2. The pharmacist said he couldn’t give them to me and that we had to get them prescribed. He got it again a few months ago (2y+ now) but this time they gave me the exact same drops over the counter because he was older.

Because they are over the counter medication as well as prescription they are not allowed to advise use in under 2 (same as allergy medication can’t be given under 1 without medical advice) as the dose has to be altered. The pharmacist wouldn’t have dispensed it if it wasn’t safe. We use this drug on newborn babies in the hospital if they are showing signs of infection following delivery

Yeah it's fine as its been prescribed. I wouldve loved the drops . they have my LG the ointment version and getting that in was awful.
