Slowcooker hack

Hey ladies I love cooking stuff in my slowcooker, especially meat curries/chilli/steak pie/bolognese etc. It makes it so tender for my baby boy (who isnt great with meat that is tougher). Thing is, I find adding salt/chillis at the end of cooking doesnt taste the same (I hate under seasoned food) so I've been cooking up whatever the meal is in a pan (as i normally would before adding to slowcooker) then spereating a portion or so for baby (without salt/chillis but including no salt stock/herbs etc) and putting it into a large roasting bag (one without the wee perforations as they will leak). Tie a knot in it and it can then sit in the slowcooker with the rest of the food, still cook the same but without absorbing the salt/spices from my own meal. Just make sure the knot sits above the sauce level. I actually put the very top of the bag under the lid.

This is such an amazing idea! Thank you for sharing

Glad some people will find it useful. I axtually used to try and fashion a wee bag out of cling film but it was super fiddley and annoying. I always check babies food before serving just incase but it hasnt failed me yet!
