Pushing Pram

At how many weeks pp did you push pram or can we do this straight away? I know rule is not to carry anything heavier than baby but can’t find anything on pushing the pram. Desperate to get out for some fresh air!

I went for a walk with my LO in their pushchair when they were 6 days old as that was when I was comfortable enough ,after taking painkillers, to go out x

I went out for a walk with baby at 3 days old there's no rules on pushing the pram as fad as I am aware

i first went out about a week pp with her, i just didn’t want to leave my house for a while though, since then we take for a walk every day, gets us both out of the house

You can push the pram, just don’t lift it out of the car etc x

I went out at 4 weeks, but the difference is I had to carry pram up and down one flight of stairs. I did it that day and didn't do it again until 6 weeks as I felt I'd pushed myself too much. X

As soon as you feel ready and comfortable to do so. Everyone is so different with what they are physically ready for and when, with my second I was ready to have baby in a carrier whilst pushing my toddler in the push chair just 4 days post c section but with my first it took a couple of weeks to feel comfortable pushing her in a her pram. I hope you have a speedy recovery. X

No rules on pushing pram. I went out 8 days pp, but that's when I felt ok to do it

I went food shopping 3 days after my section.. I pushed the pram and he started crying half way round so I left my partner shopping and went back to the car, got the car seat off and in the car & the wheels in the boot myself! I just did what I knew I could lifting wise & my recovery has been literally perfect, better than my sisters natural. I was back at PT 6 weeks after so I think it’s more about doing what your body will let you x

Thank you so much everyone 🤍

you’ll know what you can do and for how long! your body will tell you x

I pushed the pram I think day 5. My husband just pushed up hill

I found it quite useful to hold onto the pram for support on walks, just don’t push it up a really steep ramp like I did 🤦‍♀️

Straight away x

I did just one time around 2 weeks. My doctor said no pushing, pulling, lifting etc. anything heavier than the baby for 6 weeks-- so no pram. But, my doctor is very conservative

Probably a week? With my partner there so when I was done he took over, on my own for a half hour walk in to town probably about a month and definitely felt that 😬

I did straight away, needed it to hold onto tbh😂

Before 1 week, didn’t push up hills until 3 weeks I think?

I found pushing the pram actually helped me. Almost used it as a walker 😂

I was out and about after a few days as it’s better to be moving than sat still, just don’t over do I had my emergency c section nearly 3 years ago x
