No scans, they just ask lots of questions about yours and your family medical history, take some bloods and weigh you. You don’t really need to take your husband, I didn’t for either of mine, just the scans but it’s up to you :) You should download the Badger app and there’s forms you can fill in advance to save time x
@Julie mine asked my partner loads of questions too so I found it useful him being there otherwise I wouldn’t have had a clue 😂
@Olivia ooh thank you! I’ll give this a read x
@Julie thank you! I’ve don’t the forms on badger so hopefully it will just be a run through! X
@Siobhan ah lovely! Thank you 🥰x
@Siobhan true, I guess it depends how much you know or how relevant their medical history is! They can fill it in on badger in advance as well
i had my first midwife appointment today! pretty boring i would say. Literally just questions about yourself, your family history and some about your partner, i got my 12 week NHS scan books and i had bloods taken and had to do a wee sample and then got a carbon dioxide test and that’s it. Took an hour x
@Julie perfect, thank you! Got my 12 weeks booked on 1 November! So excited 👏🏻👏🏻x
Do they ask you about which hospital you want to give birth in at this stage? X
I had mine yesterday. It took about 45 minutes for me. She took bloods, urine sample, blood pressure, a breath test and height/weight. The only question they asked about my partner was what his job is, I was all prepared with his medical history plus his parents but she never asked lol
@Niki yes they should do 🙂
No but will have a blood test
I also have 1st midwife appointment tomorrow I’m really curious about how things go and can I expect scan on my first appointment
