Nursery funding

Hi My son is now 3. I'm a stay at home mum but I've just been advised by the heath visitor about putting him into a nursery. He wouldn't receive any funding until January. Do I have to apply for this funding? Do I just apply for a nursery place? What do I do?

https://www.gov.uk/check-eligible-free-childcare-if-youre-working Log into your gateway account and apply when your eligible. You then get a code that you give to the nursery and you have to get a new code every 3 months to give nursery so they can claim.

@Danielle why do they have to make it so bloody difficult ffs 😂 I don't understand i had an account but I don't know the code thing and I don't know my partner's national insurance number to set up another one

It's ridiculous I know🤦🏻‍♀️ If you don't remember your ID you can always try calling them (which is a joke in itself😂) or seeing if you can recover it online

Hi sorry to ask why the advice please x

@Lily advised nursery because of age, speech delayed and not potty trained (doesn't understand)

So just to say that you don't have to send your child to nursery if you don't want to. Nursery is common yes, and it might help with speech delay, but it also might not. It won't help with potty training, and age is no reason. As long as your child gets to have social interactions like at a park, the shops, library etc and you are playing and interacting with them, that is all they need :)
