Fussy/gassy baby

My baby is fussy after every feeding. When trying to fart, he gets so red and you can tell he’s uncomfortable. We’ve used Gripe water as well but what else could we try? Could it be the formula? Milk allergy? 🥺

Mylicon drops work better than gripe water( in my experience)! It could be from formula, or milk allergy, but both usually have other symptoms along with gas. Is he just gassy, like farts? Or also burping?

Do you try moving and pushing his legs upwards? There’s exercises or massages you can do to help baby push them out. It takes some practices but once you figure it out it’s a life saver. I also bought the dr.browns gripe belt. It’s just a little belt with a heat pack that helps sooth the stomach. I find it helps calm her sometimes when she’s struggling with pooping or gas.

I switched formulas and I noticed a change in my baby’s gas! I have also been trying to burp my baby during feedings like every once or two since they can get gas through bottles. I also noticed when I do contact naps, the heat from your belly and babies belly release gas so my baby is getting all the farts out. I also try to do slow movements with baby’s legs

My baby did this and it turned out that he has a milk protein intolerance.

Mylicon drops!

@Briana yeah we were using the mylicon drops before and switched to gripe. I may go back but it’s farts, moving uncomfortably, spitting up constantly

Do you give him breaks during feeding after every ounce? Sometimes they take in a lot of air and need a chance to release the air before proceeding to eat. Otherwise it gets really uncomfortable.

@Isabella yeah I’m trying massages as well. I just started so I’ll see if I can perfect it and help him out. I need to look up that belt. I was just using a heating pad

Our baby is super gassy all the time. We do mylocin and bicycle kicks and push knees towards the chest to help him release the gas.

My sister in law told me about putting pressure on the middle of their foot to the heel and going in circles! It’s like a pressure point that helps them relieve gas and it has helped my little man so far!

Also we have the happy tummi heating pad that you put in the microwave for 15 seconds and then Velcro around his belly and that has helped as well!

I bought Frida baby fart freeing essentials, it comes with a belly rub that heats up so you can massage his belly and it works wonders for my little one and then the windi gas passer I haven’t used but reviews say it works wonders on getting the gas out! Definitely would try if baby is really uncomfortable.

Also I got mama natural baby probiotic drops to help with his digestive system and honestly my LO never used to burb and now he does!

I second the mylicon drops and the leg moving etc my son is very very gasy formula in general can make a baby gasy we use by heart formula it's organic and he's less gasy then before with Similac or infamil

I second using mylicon drops they helped my baby so much more than gripe water. I tried infant type on as well and that didn’t help. Mylicon drops were the only thing giving my baby relief and they work super fast. I’d give them to him and I’d hear him fart and poop a few minutes after and he’d be much happier

I also used the Frida baby windi gas passer a few times which made him fart and poop. I also recommend burping your baby at least once halfway through a feeding and then holding them upright after they feed so the bubbles go down

We had to change her formula to the hypoallergenic one and Dr advised us to use gripe water 2x in a row during her evening feeds so at 5pm and then whatever the next one is. It’s made a HUGE DIFFERENCE now she’s farting and burping without complaints

@Yuliana Mayoya may I ask what probiotic did you use? I asked my pediatrician a few weeks ago if it were okay to order this and he said he didn’t see a need for it. But I’m not sure what damage it could cause

There's YouTube videos with leg exercises and tummy rubs. But don't give up on the burp. I believe it's normal for the most part.
