We have the same, baby grunts after feeding if laying down, think it’s reflux

Breastfed babies don’t usually need burping unless there’s something like a latch issue allowing air in! For us spit up meant allergies, so that might be worth looking into x

My son (now almost 14 months) spit up a lot and in large amounts they said it okay and it looks like a lot since breast milk can be thin. We found sitting up in the swing or more upright for 10-30 minutes after eating helped him not puke. Also gripe water helps with those hiccups! And later on the fussiness

Face down helps with the burping…

Does baby have a lip tie or tongue tie? My son was like this and that was why because he was taking in to much air

Can be very normal! If he’s gaining weight and not in discomfort then it’s not something to worry about. It always looks like they are spitting up much more than they are.

I’ve never heard of BF babies not needing to be burped….everything you’re saying sounds normal. my LO is exclusively breastfed and needs to be burped otherwise she would spit up quite a bit. Turns out she had reflux so we would keep her upright for 30 mins after each feeding and eventually was prescribed pepcid to help with the reflux. She did not have a lip tie or anything. Not sure how old your LO is but mine struggled with this as a newborn until about 6 months. Things improved once we introduced solids. Good luck mama!

@Imani thank you! I’m hoping it improves too I just feel bad because it wakes him up from sleep or gets hiccups.
