Constipation or Dyschezia?
My 8 week old has been struggling for the last week to poo. She is going bright red and clearly pushing with no joy. I thought it was constipation but her poos (when they eventually do come) are normal. She is in otherwise good health and no other symptoms other than difficulty pushing out a poo. Over the last few days the dirty nappies have reduced and we’ve not yet had one today! Looking for advice if anyone else has experienced similar?

Yeah she’s breastfed. The pushing is really difficult to see 😔 she looks like she’s really struggling and this is most of the day.
Oh, I understand. 😶As long as the poops are not hard or make her bleed, it is OK. You can discuss it with your GP.
My baby had this for so long it was so stressful. It does pass though she just needs to learn what muscles to use. Think it lasted about 6 weeks xx

Is she breastfed? Breastfed babies can go days without popping and be absolutely fine.
