Hey girls, I was just wondering how do you apply for the 15 hours free child care. Do I have to do this before I sign up with a day care?

To note you won’t get the free hours until January now as you’ve missed the cut off for this term (just in case you were planning on using them before then) x
Also, they’re not free, they’re funded.
You need to set up a tax free childcare account on HMRC. Once on there you can apply for tax free childcare (the 20% top up scheme) and the 15 hours funded. Unless you are already back at work you won’t get it until January 2025 now as it’s the term after you return to work (as long as your baby is over 9 months) you will then get a code you just give to the nursery of child minder. You can apply for a place with them before you get this code. So many have waiting lists now though because of this funding
