Make sure they have experience!! I used to know a lot of people who would put down they had experience BUT it was based on their younger siblings or even friends younger siblings but no real experience.

Good on you for getting someone in so you can rest, you'll quickly pick up if they actually have newborn experience. Most agencies will be able to help you with specific newborn sitters. I wish you the best of luck in your search

Ask for a 1st aid certificate and wwcc, previous experience caring for newborn and check these references. Are you going to home or out when the sitter is around? May seem an odd question but some families get sitters so they can work or rest.
