Constipation

My baby hadn’t had a bm in 2 days and she just woke up in the middle of the night with a big solid piece of poop half way out. Spent a half hour helping her push it all out and I felt so bad for her. She’s never been constipated before, always has soft runny type of poop so I’m surprised. We haven’t started any solids yet, not even cereal. She has her 4 month appt tomorrow and I’m pretty sure we’ll get the okay to start introducing solids. I feel like my baby needs prunes now/today, I don’t want to wait until she goes to the dr tomorrow. Any thoughts on introducing prunes at 4 months, also what are you all doing to prevent constipation?

Am not sure if they sell it in America but colief drops help them break down the lactose in the milk and I found that helps a lot

If you feel comfortable starting it I would go with your judgment and when you see the dr you can explain what you did and why and most of them are usealy understanding about it but at the sometime I would get some infent probiotic drops to help with stomach problems if it comes up with introducing new food, sometimes can mess with her stomach at first a little bit and then probiotics will help you get up over the hump

And they will help soften the poop back up and also if you feel they need you can do 4 oz of Pedialyte help with the constipation

they have prune puree , add a spoon or two to her milk bottle. it will work

We tried the " I love you" massage, and I believe it helped my boy poo, cause he pood almost after we did the massage
