Pram advice

Hi all! I’m due my first baby in December and I still haven’t chosen a pram. Im undecided between the icandy peach 7 and the silver cross reef 2. Does anyone have any pros or cons to either of these prams that may help with making a decision? Thanks ☺️

I have the silver cross reef and it’s comfortable for baby and he loves it but I have had to send it of for frame repair already. Also i don’t think pushes in best on no smooth ground. Also it’s very compact and the carry cot collapses and also big can still use with a big 4 month old

I have the icandy peach 7 and absolutely love it! It can be bulky and take up room in the boot of the car especially with the carry cot part but i didn’t find that a con I actually love jt. It’s smooth and easy to push across lots of terrains, has a hug under buggy compartment and is so comfy. My little girl is 1 on Sunday and still love using it to this day 🥰

Is there anywhere near you that sell them? I found going to mamas and papas and pushing the prams around the store helped me pick ours.

I love my peach 7 too but second the fact that the carrycot is big in the boot of your car!

Thank you girls, it’s really helpful just to get opinions from people who have been using them 🥰 is it annoying with the peach 7 that the carry cot doesn’t fold with the frame or is it not too much of an issue?

@Helen yeh I have looked at both of them and they are my top 2, but I just wanted to get opinions from people who have been using either of them for a little while and if there was anything that anyone really disliked and regretted getting after buying

I have the Icandy peach 7 and I’m so glad I went for it. My girl loves it and it folds up so easily. It’s quite bulky, so you’ll need good boot space but because of that it feels sturdy. It’s a super smooth push and I really think it was worth the extra money from the pram I initially considered.

I tried the icandy and it was too big for my boot with a full weeks shopping or a weekend away so I got rid of mine

At this point I’d check what the delivery times are on any that you order. I’ve seen people due in Nov who ordered back in May/june that still haven’t had their travel systems so that may be a deciding factor

I have the Icandy, it is a minor inconvenience that it doesn’t fold with anything attached, though we’re still at carrycot phase, not seat (my impression has been that very few prams fold with the carrycot, but quite a few do with the seat attached). The frame won’t fold with any of the adaptors attached, eg elevators or car seat adaptors which again is mildly inconvenient, however, overall we love it. It’s got a great sized basket, we really like the elevators for bringing carrycot higher and closer to you, great quality, pushes really well including on grass and rougher surfaces. Folds really easily (once you get over the fear that you’re going to damage it as you need to push the handle in with a little force to activate the folding mechanism) The carrycot is safe for overnight sleeping so we have used it for naps when at family’s houses etc (not been away anywhere overnight yet but certainly would consider using that rather than bringing a travel cot as well)

Another icandy 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ absolutely love it, it is bulky like others have said however when viewing prams the shop I went to trialed it in my boot, and was actually smaller than another brand I was looking at- so was a win for me. I’ve been complimented on it when out, a friend said how comfy it looks compared to hers (mamapapas) I’ve no regrets. Also love how it’s easily made into a double pushchair when the time hopefully comes 🥰🥰

I love my icandy peach 7 and we are making it a duo for when next bub arrives. The carry cot can be used for overnight sleep and not all can, so that’s why it’s definitely bulkier. I have loaded up the peach with food shopping many times and it’s so solid 👌

Icandy over here too! Just love it. So smooth - annoying about boot space but I think when transitioned to toddler seat it won’t be as bad! We opted for lie flat cybex cloud t car seat too so babe can stay in it longer which is helpful as if i need to pop out to the shop I just the frame without the bassinet x

We bought the reef and I absolutely hate it for a multitude of reasons. In fact, I don’t think there is anything I like about it .

Thank you all so much ladies 🩷 I really appreciate your help. I think it got to be the icandy then! Xx

@Sarah oh really! I appreciate you letting me know! Is there a main reason why or just lots of little reasons that add up?

@Alicia so probably the main reason is that it claims to be “all terrain” . Is it definitely not. It’s absolutely awful over anything that’s not freshly laid tarmac. The slightest bump or edge, just smashes into it and stops and you have to tip it to get up. Im talking tiny things. The clip in the middle Is another peeve - it’s very fiddly with a wriggly baby. The whole pram just feels flimsy. Scratches v easily and looks shabby quickly. The foot muff zipper has broken three times on ours too , it’s meant to be folded over as there are magnets to keep it folded however just causes the zip to Kink and ultimately break. Overall not worth a fraction of what we paid for it !

My best advice would be to scrap the idea of a whole travel system and just get a pram/pushchair that's suitable from birth, a lot of travel systems barely fit in a car boot these days 🤦‍♀️

@Sarah that’s so frustrating, like you say it’s all little things that add up to make it annoying. You can never tell when you’re looking and pushing it round a shop. You would deffo not expect that for the price you pay as it’s not cheap! Thanks so much for your opinion x

@Alicia I have the Reef and I really quite like it. I like that the carry cot folded down nice and compact. I find it super easy to put up and collapse back down. It is definitely not all terrain however I have used it on bumpy fields and over grass and managed with relative ease just being mindful of where I’m walking. If there are bigger bumps I always find it easier just to pull it over as opposed to pushing. Most importantly our LB has always been happy in it and napped no problem. That being said… we bought the babyzen when our LB was 4 months for travel and to be honest we probably have used it more from that point on. It’s amazing, I absolutely LOVE it! I have a few friends who have that as their only pram and if I were to do it again I would probably do the same x
