Yes, my baby was born 6 weeks premature and has one. I would always seek medical advice on this - if it looks particularly red, black, can’t be pressed back in when the baby is lying flat and relaxed, or seems to be causing pain or discomfort, then that’s a cause for concern. Other than that, as far as I’m aware, you shouldn’t need to use any products as it’s just to do with the baby’s abdominal muscles. It should close up by itself by the age of 4/5.

Okay, Cause it has popped out a bit more today and it looks a bit reddish but he has been pushing and grunting a lot at times

Yeah they do get bigger when they’re straining! Looks like you’re in the US, I’m in the UK so I know things are a bit different, but I’d always get it checked with a doctor in case they want to monitor it or consider surgery at a later date if it gets worse or doesn’t go away, that’s what I’ve done

Thank you for your advice I will keep a lookout for pain and discomfort, I have been researching and didn’t want to freak out until it’s necessary, the good thing is that he has his 2 month check up in a couple weeks.

baby should grow out of it. especially as they get bigger there stomach muscles will fil it preventing baby guts from filling into area. baby sit ups as they get bigger. my oldest had this and she grew out of it!
