Reflux

I think my baby has reflux. During most feedings, she arches her back, cries, is fussy, and dribbles milk. I burp her as often as I can during feedings and do bicycle kicks and massage her stomach. She is a little over a month. Is this something that goes away over time? Any tips?

Have you had her checked for oral restrictions? Tongue tie, lip tie, cheek, tie? My son just got all 4 of his ties revised today

I could have written this - my baby struggled with this exact thing and it’s so hard to find relief for her and she just seems like such an uncomfortable baby. I’ve been to the doctor twice plus the chiro and it’s still the same. The doc put her on Pepcid and I use gas drops plus probiotics. Really nothing has relieved her. I know most grow out of it by 3-6 months but that doesn’t make right now any easier. Try the slowest flow nipple for bottles if you’re bottle feeding. And warm milk. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too!

My baby also has reflux. There are a few things I’ve tried that helped - 1. Formula change - not sure if you are using formula but my baby was on Kendamil and experienced discomfort during feeds so her pediatrician suggested we put her on a gentle formula so we started Enfamil Gentlease and I’ve seen a big improvement as she is a lot more calm now during feedings. 2. Colic Calm Gripe Water has helped a lot with her reflux and just calming her down when she is fussy 3. Thickening her milk - I purchased Gelmix from Amazon and it’s been life changing. You can add a scoop in their bottle and it helps slightly thicken the milk so your baby can keep it all down and also helps a ton with reflux as it’s harder for them to regurgitate it. I hope this helps! 🤍

@Elizabeth is that something that a pediatrician can look at?

@Jocelyn yes, but highly recommend finding an ENT specialist who has the training. My lactation consultant was the one who pointed out all of his ties and found us an ENT who knew what he was doing.
