Baby Registry for Baby Shower

Did/Does anyone have a baby registry for their baby shower? What did they put on there, and why does it feel so much like begging for people to buy your baby things! I feel maybe my pride is so high I want to get everything myself but I really can’t! Need some advice asap

I had a Baby Shower, Gender Reveal & Engagement party all thrown into one. When I did the invites I made it very clear that partner & I were not looking for gifts, & that it was totally optional. In fact I made the whole day optional - attend whatever part of the day people fancied. The wishlist I made on Amazon. I put a variety of things on there that catered to all budgets. This was to demonstrate that we were (& still not), seeking things, or wanting people to spend loads. Having people there at the event was more important to us. Amazon also give you ideas as to what you can put on the list too, so you tailor it to how you’d like. I did feel cringey / guilty doing the list but I’d rather give people an indication of what we think would be useful to us, instead of being given things that we probably wouldn’t use / receive several lots of. Hope that helps.

I just used Amazon because they give you discounts on some items and a free gift. Most of what’s on my list is books, toys, muslins and bibs but also basically things I’m going to buy regardless so if someone wants to buy it for me, amazing. If not I’ll be getting it for myself after my baby shower anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've just waited until people ask what I need and I show them the list of little things I haven't bought yet so I'm not asking for anything expensive as I feel cheeky! Then anything I don't get I'll just buy after the baby shower

I've set up an Amazon wishlist, I feel like it's always a bit awkward a bit like wedding gifts but in my experience people want to buy something and I feel it's better for it to be something you want/need than them spending money on stuff you won't use so I'd rather set up a list and then people can choose what works for their budget. Amazon also gives you a discount on certain items within 90 days of your due date and a free gift

A lot of my friends have asked what I want because they don't want to get me stuff I don't need. So I made a wishlish on Amazon and said I would share that nearer the time. They were all happy with the idea. Theres bits and bobs of all price ranges so easy for smaller budgets 😊. Like the other comments its all things that we need so would get anyway.
