What are the chances of getting told you're having a boy but it actually turns out to be a girl?

We went to our anomaly scan last week and the technician said she thought it was a boy but couldn't be sure and said she actually regretted telling us because of how uncertain she was. Baby's been in a difficult position the entire time and that was actually my third anomaly scan as they haven't been able to get all the measurements at one scan alone. I saw the screen and personally I'm 100% I saw a willy, but I'm obviously not an ultrasound tech so I'm not trusting my own judgement either😂 What are the honest chances of it not being a boy and being a girl? I know it's easy to get it mixed up the other way but I've not heard of many people getting it mixed up that way. I'm not bothered what flavour baby comes out as, I just want to get stocked up on baby clothes and decide a name😂

This happened to my mum with me, they brought all boy things 😂 was 24 years ago though!x

@Amy oh god, bet that was a shock! Like we've agreed to just buy gender neutral things but it's less fun😂 I have a growth scan at 28 weeks so I'm hoping they might be able to confirm it but if baby's still all coiled up in there I doubt it😂x

Just came here to giggle at ‘what flavour baby’ 😂😂 I haven’t got any advice unfortunately, other than to say at my 20 week scan they also couldn’t determine the baby’s sex and a few other measurements, and same again at the repeat scan two weeks later! I then had reassurance scans at 28 and 32 weeks and they were confidently able to determine the sex there so fingers crossed for your growth scan, and then you still have time to buy some more personalised/less neutral bits 🤞🏻 x

About 95% accurate but if baby was on a difficult position it would be hard to tell!

Do you have a pic you can share ?! X
