Does she not move her head to the side? My son only really sleeps with his to one side…
It sounds like reflux. My daughter used to do this. NHS told me it’s completely normal and they can’t harm themselves when it happens. I used to be so distressed when it happened.
If it makes you feel better, my girl had several spit up choking attacks in the middle of the night during the first 2 months. She’s 4m now and hasn’t had any since but I asked my pediatrician if she could choke and he said not if she’s on her back. They have natural gag mechanisms to keep their airways open and it’s very hard for fluids to make it into the windpipe, however they’re more likely to choke if sleeping tummy down for many reasons I’m not going to list here but basically the liquid will pool at the airways and it’s more likely for them to choke. Parenting is hard, I promise the spit up will get better eventually and you’ll start to worry less about it.
@Kellie yes, I put her head to the side to sleep and she also moves her head but she gets reflux sometimes and it was a lot of spit up

Obviously this is really scary but as baby gets bigger this wil Become less and less. Try keeping her up for along as possible after feeds. It’s hard xx
@Nasya yes, I have to ask her pediatrician for sure but she does seem to have reflux. She spits up a lot, usually she turns her head and is fine but this time it was so much. Did you breastfeed or formula feed?

If you haven’t already got one you can consider buying a baby monitor so when you do have to go to the kitchen etc you can turn that on and can see her. Personally I don’t have the owlet sock as I felt it would make me more anxious because I’d be constantly checking it and I’ve heard it can go off for no reason so this is what works for me x
Get a camera monitor that way you can see and hear what she’s doing with you out the room x

I know it’s scary but ALWAYS have baby on their back! If they are on their side or stomach liquid can go down their airway. When they are on their back fluid can’t go into their airway.
I have the owlet sock and I haven’t used it since day 2 of being home. My 2 week old has breath holding spells/bad choking episodes where she can’t breathe and we left the owlet sock on during these times and it never detected her sats dropping. She was admitted to hospital when she was a week old and had these episodes whilst on the sats machine and this picked up her sats dropping regularly. I haven’t bothered with the owlet after that, it didn’t pick up anything when I know definitely her sats would drop to as low as 70. Don’t waste your money x
