When did everyone have a bath after a c section? I’m 3 weeks pp and im desperate to just have a bath. I don’t have a shower so been having to water myself down for weeks🙄

I had a bath at 5 weeks pp, they say you should wait until 6 weeks pp to have a bath

2½-3weeks they told me i could bath for short amount of time but with no bubble baths

I’m 3 weeks pp too and I’d feel comfortable having a bath although I’ll add I haven’t had one yet as I have a shower. But I know I’d be so uncomfortable if I hadn’t washed properly by now. If you have been told by the midwives you have healed well and had no complications and your wound is healed to skin, I think you’d probs be ok- also depends on what your pp bleeding is like at this point. But I’d say if you haven’t got a shower, the pros of getting a proper wash are probs worth it at this point. Probs don’t add loads of soap etc Xxx

Not a c-section but I’ve just had surgery to repair a hernia and been told I can bath or shower after 2 weeks. If you’re uncertain, give your midwife or GP surgery a call and ask for advice 😊

I had shower on the 3rd day, I made sure i kept the scar dry after taking bath.

I was told as long as dressing off, a plain bath is fine and once bleeding stops okay to add bubble bath /shower gel etc x

I had my dressing off the next day which is when I went home and a bath 2 days after my section with confirmation it was okay from the doctor. He advised as long as it wasn’t for a long period of time it would be okay.. and we don’t have a shower so I didn’t have much choice🤣xx

The above is so interesting! I had my dressing off after 5 days and told it was healing well but still told I can’t have a bath for 6 weeks.
