My daughter is in constant pain

Hey moms, I need help! I need advise! My daughter has been dealing with stomach pain for the last three months. It hurts more now than it did three months ago. Her pediatrician treated her for constipation the first time I brought up her pain. I followed her directions perfectly for two weeks and she had zero improvement. It hurts all of the time. She’s scared to eat because it does hurt worse after she eats. She has always been a great eater and zero picky issues. The girl loved to eat. She still eats even though she knows it will hurt because she still gets hungry and hates feeling hungry. There’s a few foods that seem to bother her way less and she tends to rely on them a lot more everyday. Pediatrician sent us to the GI doctor. 1. X-ray came back perfect (no constipation ) 2. Ultrasound came back basically normal (she had some debris in her bladder) the GI doctor was not concerned about this and her pediatrician wasn’t either because she’s never had a UTI or bladder infection. 3. The GI suggested she take an acid reducer every morning. (We have not started this medicine. I’m just not wanting to put medicine in her body unless there is more signs pointing to acid reflux.) 4. Doctor ordered blood work for gluten intolerance and stool testing. (We haven’t received the results. She has eaten gluten her entire life and now that she’s older she intolerant now? Not sure how it works) What are we missing? What can I ask for? She is in an intense amount of pain everyday but she pushes through. I’ve taken her to the er twice because she had extreme pain at two random times and I was so scared. Both times the Er sent us home after X-ray and ultrasound both being normal. One doctor told me kids make this up often but my daughter is absolutely not. Anyone go through this with their little? She is four years old. My heart is broken. And I have to figure this out for her 😞

What foods have you been giving her.

How old is she

@Gabrielle she just turned five

I would do an immediate diet overhaul. And yes, the damage from gluten sensitivity is progressive and additive, so it could have hurt far less (and she was younger and unable to express it) and now it hurts more! I’m so so sorry she’s feeling this. I’d go for a Low Fodmap diet and a pretty strict limited selection of foods, to try and keep out the major allergens/irritants to see if you can get a baseline.

@👑Queen📱 she eats a well rounded diet. Cows milk, fruit, meat, we limit sugar but she eat bread and whatever we eat for dinner. We haven’t avoided any foods.

What foods bother her way less? She should stick to those!

Does she take just an antacid. Maybe try that first? But if nothing is working I would definitely try the medicine. Sure you don’t want to put any medicine in her body but like she’s in pain so give her anything that could maybe help.

@Trish I will look that diet up! Good advise. Thanks momma

Maybe try to eliminate gluten and dairy and see if that helps. I know for me I have IBS and I have an auto immune disease and eating both of those things hurt my stomach. You could have them check her thyroid or even get some kind of check on if she has IBS or just take medicine anyway and see if that helps. I wasn’t fully tested for it because I was pregnant but I started taking medicine and it’s helped a lot

I’m so sorry your daughter is going through that. Maybe she should get an MRI done of the abdomen and pelvis. If the pain is concentrated in the lower right part then they may do a more specific scan to rule out appendicitis or even a scan to rule out Crohn’s disease. Please keep us updated. Sending prayers your way 🙏🏻

I would try avoiding some food to see if the pain would stop

I know she may be too young to have gallstones but I’m not 100% sure, since she has pain after she eats and most of the time stomach hurts or pain in the back due to greasy food even red meat, but normally that happens when their older…I wish I could be more helpful

I started having signs of gluten intolerance 4 years ago and I'm 40. I agree to cut out gluten and see if that helps.

When my son was between 6m -1 year he began having very bad stomach pains didn’t matter if it was Breastmilk or Sensitive Formula or what. He began taking Famotidine and it helped tremendously with his reflux and stomach pains
