Gender scan wrong gender

Has anyone been for a gender scan at 14 weeks exactly and it be incorrect at 20?

Generally the scan that would be wrong is the 14 weeks scan. Ordinarily sonographers do not like to confirm gender until 15 weeks because they cannot be relied upon.

I had it done at 14 weeks and one day! I was asked to empty my bladder as well?!?! The sonographer took their time and showed us where they was looking to explain the gender..

What gender did they say your baby is and what was the gender confirmed as at your 20 week scan?

13 then they said girl!

I was 18 weeks and had a scan with my first woman said she was sure it was a girl my 20 week scan I was closer to 21 weeks and the lady said do you know gender I said yes and she said oh so u know your having a little boy I said a what?!! No I was told girl safe to say I was shocked and my family and I did indeed have a son lol

The 20 weeks scan will definitely be a good chance more reliable because they will have all their anatomy by this point. ☺️

I had quite a few scans because my last pregnancy was an ectopic. So I’ve had scans at weeks 4,6,8,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,23. I can now feel him moving so I don’t need any further reassurance that he’s okay. They hinted he was a boy at my 13 weeks scan… and confirmed at my 15 week scan and they mentioned it every scan after that! ☺️

I would say at 14 weeks there’s a reasonable chance they might get it wrong (most clinics wouldn’t offer it at this early gestation because generally it’s not reliable until the baby is bigger and more formed). You have a good chance of it being accurate at 20 weeks, though it’s never 100% certain until baby is born! X
