Poos?

I’m really concerned about my little one when she does poos she really struggles to go to a point where she gets so upset and cries for ages! She even makes a strange noise as she’s pushing Is this normal? Should I speak to the GP?

try giving her a gentle tummy rub, it might help. if not, it won't harm anyone to speak to your gp about it and see what they say.

Try baths regular and cool boiled water. If not speak to GP

Thankyou!

Hi Beth, my little girl was the exact same when she was little! She would scream for ages and it looked such an effort for her!! We took her to the drs and they were happy that as her poo was normal when it did come she wasn’t constipated! They said it can take them a while to work out how to pop!! Look up infant dyschezia-I was assured she wasn’t actually in pain and was just something she needed to work out! I think since about 12 weeks it’s stopped overnight near enough!! Xxx

Is she breastfed or formula? My boy is formula and was the same as a newborn, after not getting anywhere with the HV or GP for weeks a pharmacist recommended changing formula, so we did and never looked back (moved from Mamia to Kendamil and now poops once or twice a day with no straining ) x

Chiropractic care and eliminate dairy or gluten from your diet if your breastfeeding or her formula.

How old is she? My little boy is the exact same, he strains and struggles and cries, but as his poo is normal consistency, it's not constipation. I agree with dyschezia, that's what weve deduced our boy has. when they're so young theyre trying to figure out how to poo, coordinate all the muscles etc

She’s 3 months old
