Tongue tie cut

My boy is 10 weeks & HV noticed a slight tongue tie so referred us to get it cut. He doesn’t seem affected by it as he can feed an can poke his tongue out etc. Is it worth getting it cut still? And does it hurt them?

It’s entirely up to you but my little boy has a tongue tie and he feeds fine so we aren’t getting it cut. In time it should get better. I would say it probably does hurt but it’s very quick x

We got referred to and they checked over and didn't get cut as they said was ok x

I’ve had both my little boys cut early, we didn’t have many issues with feeding however in time it can affect speech so I chose to have them done when they were tiny rather than leaving it. X

We opted not to get baby girl’s cut as she feeds fine. The specialist at the hospital (Sheffield Children’s Hospital) said that the research on it affecting speech is flawed and it just isn’t true. Unless it’s a dramatic tongue tie (like right at the front). My partner and I both have tongue ties and we know our speech is fine. x
