Birth Reflection

Hi, does anyone know how long a birth reflection appointment is? And am I allowed to bring my baby with me?

How did you request this? I’ve seen some people do it over video call but not sure…

Wait what? I never heard of this…. Can I do it 14 months pp? Lol

I emailed this email straight after the birth to self refer/ request the appointment and almost 5 months later I got an email confirming my appointment 4 week after that which states it’s at the hospital but says nothing about how long it is and if I can bring my baby 😅 tpa-tr.antenatalclinicpah@nhs.net

But I know you can request the birth notes

@Ioana I am not sure 😖 I had a traumatic birth so I was told by a few midwives to request it straight away if I wanted to get details about what happened and get to ask questions. It’s worth emailing them to ask I suppose 🙏

I had a traumatic birth and was advised to speak to the reflections team, they said they had referred me. My son is now 2yrs 4months and I'm still waiting for an appointment!

@Emma Gabriel that’s insane! Have you tried to self refer through the email?

@Vanessa I wasn't aware that you could do that, they probably won't see me now it's been so long

@Emma Gabriel maybe give it a go, I waited 5 months before I got my appointment but at least I got one, I haven’t heard about a time frame on when you need to do it by so you might be okay ❤️

I had a birth reflection appointment around 9 months after I had my baby. It was an hour long and I brought her and my partner with me and they’re fine with that. It was very worth it and really helped me to move forward after my traumatic birth xx

Also, the person doing the appointment should phone you the day before just to confirm everything, where you have to go etc. but yes bring baby with you if you want and a partner for support x

@Tasha That’s great thank you very much 🙏🥰
