Busy Bees Nursery

Does anyone’s little one go to Busy Bees Nursery in Wakefield. I have a viewing booked for this week and would love some feedback from other mums who send their children there. Im a very nervous first time mum and I’m absolutely petrified to send my little girl to a nursery but it’ll soon be unavoidable with needing to work more hours. She’s the most precious, kind, gentle, dinky thing and I’m worried about her being pushed around by more confident kids. All feedback is very much appreciated, good and bad as I can’t seem to find many reviews online. Thanks in advance

My daughter 15 month old. Going to busy bee nursery for past one month. Honestly I don't know what to tell I have a mixed feel. Too much money 💰 they could have provide better .

Baby settling okay. Hope she is fine. Nursery team won't update app so late update I can't have patience

my daughter seems to enjoy it, they update the app with photos which is nice, and what she is eating, nappy changes and sleeps, she’s always smiling when i pick her up and the staff are lovely.

My baby is due to start there in January. I’ve also read mixed reviews. But the viewing went well and it was good to see how the age groups are separated and a diverse mix of kids. I also liked how it’s set away from someone just walking past the gates at playtime. I’ve emailed the site with two queries since (extended my mat leave therefore extended babies start date etc) and always got back to me in good timing.

I don’t know if there’s more than one in Wakefield but a family member of mine with a lot of years experience got a job there and walked out on her first day! It’s my local nursery 1 minute walk from my house and I wouldn’t have sent my son there! But I also know someone who sent there child there and loved it!

I considered sending me son there and I visited there were things i liked and disliked on the visit. They've had a recent bad ofsted, worth taking that into accountability

@Katie hi Katie - how do you know the rating off the visit? I thought they didn’t publish good/bad etc anymore since September 2024? I saw the last inspection comments but it only mentioned further staff training required regarding data protection but not any issues towards child care as such? I’m always reading mixed reviews about this place so it makes me anxious as me son will be starting at 9 months in January but the other two possible options didn’t have his availability (3 days per week) however I did get a good vibe when we went to visit. Yet to complete his induction days in December

@Hollie I saw the complaint from july on ofsteds website. It worried me that in 2022 they were requires improvement, not long been good and since received a complaint to ofsted. It's really tough chosing a nursery, especially that have the availability you need. I don't mean to put you off just telling you the concerns I had. I did like the size of the rooms when I visited and the food they offered but was worried about their history of ofsted and some of the staff interactions I had. Good luck, I'm sure your son will do great!
