Help!

Baby has started solids and she hates water, every time I try to give her water she sips once and rejects it. Her poop is very solid and I think she’s constipated. What can I do to make her drink more water/help constipation? She’s 6months

Prune puree and just offer her more milk if she’s constipated. Often they don’t take to water quickly.

Have you tried using a syringe? I have distilled water and my baby has always liked it… it literally tastes of nothing.

Thank you

Are you breastfeeding?

I'm not sure how it will be with your LO, but with mine it just took time. When milk/formula is the only liquid they know, there is an adjustment period! I started my LO on water at the same time as he started solids and it took him almost a month to accept water. Now he drinks well with every meal.

Can’t help on how to get her to drink more water, however to help constipation give watermelon. Such a high water content it really helps my LO.

It is normal to experience constipation at the start as it is a lot of changes for LOs’ digestive system. It took my LO several weeks to accept water. If you are breastfeeding makes sure to offer the breast often. Also try all fruits starting with P (peaches, pears, prunes) and kiwis I would try also different container (straw, bottle, open cup)
