Health visitor shadowing

You mean like, a HV in training? Usually you have to agree to the trainee being there so you should be able to ask for them to not come. But why do you not want a trainee? People have to learn somehow

@Ella we didn’t know there’d be one until the day. We changed HV because our last caused us issues. She told us our boy had a milk allergy but he really didn’t (he’s breastfed and had no symptoms). He also had a few cuts on his head where his nails grew out and accused us of abusing him and got social to come around - who realised it was not serious. I came from care and she accused me of a lot of things saying I’m not responsible to be a mother from where I came from, etc. She tried finding out my past by contacting social, which they couldn’t divulge bc I’m an adult. So I’ve kind of got trauma from all that happening and all of a sudden we have a new one that brings someone else along. We never consented to it. Thank you for clearing that up though! It’s just so much stress for no reason, and I don’t think anyone need extra stress with a baby lol

I'm so sorry that's happened! We had an hv in training come just after I had my daughter so we saw her a few times since the visits were more frequent then, but I'm pretty sure she was only there for an 8 week rotation. I also didn't know she was coming and was introduced at my front door, if they come round again I'm sure you can just say please can only your hv come in and the trainee can wait in the car? In my experience the trainees are always super respectful though, they are much more likely to ask permission for everything than the ones who have been working for decades.

@Isla thank you, there’s good and bad to everything unfortunately. I agree they’re more respectful, I just thought it was super odd. We had the team leader come around after everything kicked off and she never said anything either, thought it was weird for how sensitive the matter was. But then again they care more about their staff in my HV team. Ahh I didn’t know they did 8 week rotation. By the next appointment, we should have the trainee. Thank you so much
