Grabbing ears

My 9 month old grabs at her ears and keeps touching them… at first I though she was only grabbing at her right ear but today I realized she’s doing it with both… she doesn’t have a fever or any change in her behavior she seems pretty normal overall… is it possible to have an ear infection with no accompanying symptoms? Or could this be teething?

It’s probably teething. My son CONSTANTLY grabs and yanks at his ears when he’s teething. I’ve taken him to the doctor because I was kinda concerned and there was no ear infection

@Jennifer when I looked it up the first thing it said was teething as well but my immediate thought was ear infection 😂 or maybe even water in her ear? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 I’d never heard of ear grabbing for teething!

she probably just discovered her ears or shes teething

Mine does this when she’s tired

My baby pulls ears when she's tired

My 9 month old has been doing this a lot lately too. No accompanied symptoms or change in behavior. Glad to read you all comments that it’s teething.

I just had my boy’s ears checked because of the same behavior and it was teething.

My daughter does the same thing. I think it’s teething. The only time she plays with mine is when I’m putting her down for a nap or bed.

My son does the same thing when he’s teething.

Discovering ears is what my doctor told me since she has no ear infection but grabbing at ears is a concern for ear infection but it's most likely they are curious on their body parts

Yup my daughter does this when she's tired, when she's confused or is self soothing (she also grabs/pulls her hair), and when she's teething, which she is currently going THROUGH IT with the teething

I would just have her ears looked at to be sure cause my daughter was messing with her ear and didn't have a fever or any other symptoms but I took her to the doctor and she ended up having an ear infection.
