Bath time struggles

My 18 month old hates getting her hair washed during bath time. She loves playing in the water but the second I try to wash her hair she freaks out and wants out immediately. I literally have to force her to wash her hair. It’s makes me sad. We do swim lessons every week and she loves the water, not scared of jumping in or anything. I’m so confused why this scares her so much. Any tips or suggestions?

I’m going through the exact same thing!! I have no tips. I feel like I’ve tried everything including that elephant nozzle from target where the water dribbles out and he still freaks out. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Mine used to be like this but the swimming helped. I am trying to teach her to close her eyes and also to look up but it hasn’t clicked yet

Could you maybe try some playing with dolls and do pretend baths with them, making it fun to "look up" and get their hair pretend washed? It might take a little time but my daughter loves to mimic the things her dollies do

Also same!! It’s so stressful!! One thing I tried that helped which is insane. I got a “star / galaxy” projector and plugged it in so cool stuff is on the ceiling, then use the handheld shower to rinse her hair while she looks up. Works sometimes. I realize this sounds crazy but I am desperate 😆

They have little visor hats that keep the water from going on their face! I’ll try to find a link. But what I do normally is, I will wash their hair first (immediately after putting them in the bath) and remind them once they’re clean we have all the time to play and relax in the bath. Because then they’re not anticipating it and you just go ahead and get it over with. I also say silly things like “what’s that kitty doing on the ceiling” 😂 it works really good for my 3 year old but my almost 1.5 year old is hit or miss.

Kind of like this! https://a.co/d/1GB8XX1
